This method involves drilling drainage holes into the base of the pool to allow water to drain away naturally. The existing concrete pool structure is left intact and filled with clean fill, which is installed in layers and compacted. This option is typically the most cost-effective and is suited where no future building or structural works are planned over the area.
This is the most common pool removal method for residential properties. The pool is fully drained and the top 300–350mm of the concrete walls are broken down and removed. Large drainage holes are then created in the remaining pool floor to ensure proper drainage. The remaining pool structure is filled with clean fill, installed in layers and compacted. Once completed, there is no visible outline or rim of the previous pool, and the area appears as though there was never a pool in place. This method provides a strong balance between cost and finish and is more cost-effective than a complete pool removal.
This method involves the full demolition of the concrete pool shell, including removal of all concrete, reinforcing steel, and associated debris. All materials are removed from the site and disposed of appropriately. Once demolition is complete, the entire area is filled with clean fill and compacted in layers to create a fully reinstated ground profile.
